IthasbeenreportedthatadditionofasmallamountofMgonanoparticlestolow-densitypolyethylene(LDPE)canofferthepolymerexcellentelectricalinsulatingpropertiescl],thereforeMgO/LDPEnano-compositesbecomethepromisingcandidatematerialsforcablesinalong-distanceandhigh-voltagedirect-currentpowertransmission.Inthiswork,theMgonanoparticlescoatedwithvinyltris(2-methoxyethoxy)silanewereblendedwithLDPEusingamixerfromHAAKE.Itwasshownbythepulsedelectroacoustic(PEA)methodthatMgonanoparticlessignificantlyreducedthespacechargeinjectionandaccumulateinthepolymerinsulationmaterials,andincreasedthebreakdownstrength.AmodelofelectricchargetrapsproducedbythepermanentandinduceddipolemomentshasbeenproposedbyTanakaeralc2].ThedeeptrapsprovidedbyinducedpotentialwellofMgonanoparticleswerethoughtpossiblytosuppressthespacechargeformation.Onthebasisofthismodel,bytakingtheinterfacepropertiesbetweenthefillersandthematrixintoaccount,andcombiningwithpercolationeffectsofthefillers,wefurtherstudiedtheeffectofdispersiondensityofMgonanoparticlesinLDPE.Theresultsshowedtheelectrictrapswerebroadenedduetotheexistenceoftheinterfacelayer.Itseemedthatinterspacingbetweentheparticlesshouldbewithinacertainrangeinordertoachieveeffectivespacechargesuppression,whichwasconsistentwiththeexperimentalresults.Thedielectricconstantofthenanoparticlewasthekeyfactoraffectingthedepthandwidthofthetraps,thuswedofurtherexperimentsusingthenanoparticleswithdifferentdielectricconstantstoverifytheresults
