Solvothermalreactionsoftwoligandswithdifferentgeometry,derivedfromcyclotriphosphazene,hexakis(4-formylphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene(H611)andhexakis(3-formylphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene(H6L2)withEu(N03)3.6H20inH20/DMFundersimilarsynthesisconditionsproducedthreenewcompounds,namely,{[Eu2《11)(H20)4].(H20)4.(DMF)2}n(1),and{[Eu2(L1)6(H20)8].(H20)2.DMF}n(2)and{[Eu2(L2)6(H20)3(DMF)].(H20)2.(DMF)}n(3).CompoundsIand2displaya2Dlayercrystalstructurewithdistincttopologicalnetworkincorporatingtheextendedhexa-carboxylateligandLl;Incontrast,3hasaIDcrystalstructurewiththehighlydistortedhexa-carboxylateliagndL2.Inthesethreecompounds,theligandsLlandL2arefullydeprotonated,whosesixextendedcarboxylarmsconnectsixdifferent/samemetallicnodestoformthehighdimensionalframeworks.Arelativedetailedluminescencestudyshowedthatthesehexa-carboxylatelinkersarenotreallyaverygoodsensitizeroflanthanideluminescencecl,2].Inaddition,IR,TGAandXRDcharacterizationsofthreecomplexeswerealsocarriedout.
